Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
as you say .. You have two identical setups ...
but two different fuel pumps ...
one is wrong, maybe ...
poor condition, different type of DC motor ...
(no caps and/or inductor inside, etc)
..and VNLD5090 can't handle this situation ...
try to use different type of load (bulb .?? ) on this output ..

.. some Proteus and microRusEFI for sale in Europe ..

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
The Proteus v0.7
See pic1,pic2,pic3 and pic4,there are thin traces like pointed on the every copper layer and they do not connect the pads around them,so the thin trace will be cut after production.
And the width of them are less than 0.15mm,which are too small to make.
If this is correct, I suggest updating these points.

I don't see this issue either in KiCad or in the official gerber output files.

It's just a production defect. When printing layers, the machine only prints with quality from 0.15
I changed them all to 0.5588
Perfect Gnd contact and no hot spots

Hi!
Did anyone manage to make EGT work on Proteus board using the AUX SPI connector?
It looks to be laid out on SPI5 port

At the moment rusEFI focuses on spi1 to 3 with one random spot mentioning spi4. Do not see any spi5 code anywhere.
Code: Select all
custom spi_device_e 1 bits, U08, @OFFSET@, [0:2], "Off", "SPI1", "SPI2", "SPI3", "SPI4"

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
Got a question for the smart people...
Why are lowside outputs 13,14,15 & 16 the only ones with flyback diodes build in?
Im having some issues getting my VVT solenoids working at high PWM frequencies and I think it might need a flyback diode to fix the issue (well thats what im going to try next anyway). Looking at the schematic 4 outputs already have them! Just wondering why only 4 and not all of them?

Because back-feeding with relays and not desired with injectors.

Fly back diode will slow down injector closing. That may be an issue. So this diodes are not installed on injector channels.

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
I'll start with an apology if I missed it, but what is the current limit on the h-bridge?
I have a 2.1ohm actuator so it pulls an honest 7A which is why I ask.

TLE9201 is a 6A H-Bridge

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
Do you mean can we parallel 2 h-bridge chips to drive more amps in a single TB? When you say bridge an h-bridge what are you looking for?
See notes about parallel topology below.

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
Yes, parallel H-bridges to a single TB. 10 years ago? when I was last ECU shopping the motec spec sheet listed 5A h-bridges with a note that 2 may be be bridged for 10A output, today they are listed at 9A high/12A low and no mention of bridging, but kind of not needed with the new specs. My current ECU on the other hand uses a 2 channel 5A chip with all the PWM logic built in and no way to sync the outputs so I had to run a larger external h-bridge. The TLE9201 chip appears the track a PWM from an external source, so I'm guessing supplying matching inputs to 2 chips will yield matching outputs and the theoretical ability to run them in parallel?
Tunerstudio does allow me to select throttle 1 on 2 channels....no idea if the software in the ECU would do it though.
If not, I'll need to find an external solution that works with the available outputs to make it viable. This is kind of a me problem, but it is an off the shelf BMW throttle actuator so not a problem I invented.

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
I think from a hardware standpoint they can technically be parallel-ed but I'm not sure if they would double the drive capability. If one bridge has less ohm that will be favored and will reach capacity quicker. I think the technical hurdle is software. It's possible that out of shit luck it might work as is. However I don't think the syncing with the intent of parallel operation was a planned feature.
Knowing you, I should encourage you to pick up a handful of beach sand squeeze it with a hefty grunt and make a chip which can handle more amps.
More practical solution, can you find a chip which can handle the amps you want? I know h-bridge with more amps is possible. It might have to be something with external MOSFETs. It shouldn't be to hard to spin a variant with more amps per channel.

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
Hi there! Where are you located? If you are in europe i still have 3 spare Proteus boards including connectors and pins. If you really want to spend 1000 bucks or more on 5 boards including connectors i can help you with that too. Would be easier to discuss that on discord thoughR129SlSexy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 21, 2025 7:59 pmHello to the smart people of rusefi. I Would like some help.
