Honda OBD1 Turbo LSVTEC Progress

Post by lsvtec »

On pump E85:

So I was having issues with working with crazy VE tables. Luckily I was able to find the correct injector dead times from the previous owner and I input that data, along with the injector flow rate of 2080cc which was rated 43.5psi (FPR is set at that). Using the basemap VE table, I only had to decrease the injector size to 1400cc, and increase the whole VE table by a scale of 50% to get the AFR reasonable ~14-15 at idle, although I will note the engine likes to idle very lean >17 which is when I notice the engine really smooths out for some reason.

Also for those of you working with the BoostedNW PnP ECU like me, I made the mistake of not correctly inputting my MAP sensor settings (I'm not sure which of the options from the drop down menu were going to work so I left it as it came and forgot about it). This also affected the initial tune. I am running a SpeedFactory 4BAR MAP sensor, and I had difficulty finding the settings to input online. I found a PDF with the settings which I will attach so that others can use it, if running the same sensor. Interpolating the data from the PDF - as a CUSTOM setting: min voltage set at 0, max at 4.8..min 3.47 kpa, max 400 kpa

Still working on the idle with electrical load (headlights, radiator fan, heater on full blast -- the major ones). Once the idle stuff is teased out, I'll drive the car to the nearby tuner to get it tuned.
