I don't think thickness matters that much. The connectors are reasonably strong with any PCB installed.
I will order 0.8mm just to save the planet, also 1.6mm looks so last century.

Just a random fact: Audi is placing ECUs inside a cage so that you cannot just unplug a connector. Same break away bolts like they use on steering column locks.

Code: Select all

1) center hole for plastic latch is too small
side latches are fine

New connector is available at rusEfi store - https://www.tindie.com/products/russian/121-pin-ecu-connector/

I did similar to my projects. EDC 15+ ECU is very cheap in my country. Is possible to share 3D model of connector for PCB renderings?

First post in this thread has links to TE site - TE site has 3D PDF and other 3D files, we used those.

Thank you.
I didn't know about Eagle's library for this connector and everything measured and draw footprint myself :x :x :x :x :x

We use KICAD and do not use Eagle.

I know, but when learn Eagle few years ago is hard to switch my brain to KiKad. KiKAD is a very good, and free for charge stuff.

Hello from Germany,

I am new to this forum and currently not running a rusefi. However, I am about to fit a megasquirt I had lying around into a road-legal offroad buggy. The vehicle's genuine ECU is a Chinese Bosch ME7.5.7 with this 121-pin connector, here named as "Korean style" version. Well, actually that ECU only uses the larger 81-pin connector, the 40-pin side is blank. My plan is to use the full size connector in a housing of a donor ECU just used to patch wires from one side to the other. This way I can hide my megasquirt somewhere else :)

Before I order the PCB at SEEED, is there anyone in Europe who already produced a batch of the pcb (and would sell one piece to me) or is anyone else interested?

Cheers,
Maren

The third option for 81-pin female connector is TE 1473244-1:

AKA "Komatsu PC200-8", "60D98D", "60D/98D", "3601115-98D-60D". It's more like "german" type (368376-1) and doesn't fit the "asian" male pcb connector (without modification). Has a "rocking lever" on the top for locking mechanism.

The corresponding male connector is TE 1746979-1:

..Which is visually undistinguishable from the "german" type 1241434-1. Still more tests needed to verify the compatibility.

Here's the drawing for the 3rd connector type (1473244-1 + 1746979-1):
