Rover K Series first cut hardware

Post by PhilTheGeek »

Roughed out PCB along with a check that the connector and case I've chosen are looking to be about right.

Looks cool! What is the next step for this? Are you considering publishing your schematics?

Looks cool, and keep up doing the cool stuff.

What software did you use for that (perhaps Solidworks) and is this something you are willing to share? If shared I can offer a review and commentary. (If parts of the schematic use stuff I've published, might be worth me noting, that as far as I'm concerned, when you have a lawyer up to their neck in sand, what you have is not enough sand. Keep up doing the cool stuff.)

Are you interested in suggestions on general case / enclosure concepts that might be worth considering? I've wanted to make a from scratch design for a while now, and I have some concepts I can toss out there if might have interest. I've been short on time lately, so the chances of me doing a from scratch layout are low for next several months. But if you are doing a design, that might be a way these concepts to turn into reality. I can offer help if you are putting in the effort to do something from scratch.

I will happily publish schematics once I'm a bit closer to considering manufacture of a prototype, with any luck that might be later this week. I have somewhat shamelessly plagiarised elements of frankenso (SMPS, Analogue input, High Side drivers), hope this isn't a problem.

Very happy to hear your case/enclosure concepts.

Frankenso is out there for people to use for what ever use. Whether it be publicly published or privately held, for commercial or non-commercial use, feel free to use it for what ever. I personally prefer to NOT get credit for it. I'm happy you are using it, it's nice to see people interested in it. Keep up the good work and if you publish the schematics and such, I'd be happy to offer commentary and make my best attempt at constructive criticisms.
