Hello all, a new lurker on board.

Post by Derick Freese »

I'm an intermediate skill level mechanic, with a beginners' skill set of EFI systems. I have worked with Megasquirt and TunerStudio in the past with good success, but I value something fully open source.

Most of my first few months here will be spent lurking and reading. Hopefully, I can contribute some information in regards to OBD0 Honda engine control systems, since that's what I'm most familiar with.

I'm a real-namer on the interwebs, so if you see this screen name elsewhere, you can be assured it's me. I frequent EEVBlog.com and GrassrootsMotorsports.com under this name.

I live in a small town in Florida, called Palatka. This area is surrounded by guys that know nothing other than carbs and HEI ignition. Some may be old enough to set points, but not even the old timers do that anymore. "Brain boxes" are still voodoo to them.

Welcome Derick!

What year is that Honda? Is it using a connector like Image by any chance?

Cool EEVBlog. I know of the group. Would be cool to control more than just a internal combustion. It might also be worth while for me to mention I've converted some vehicles to lead sleds back around 2001.
Welcome to the friendlier side of internet crazy :)
