Electronic Variable Valve Timing Actuators

Post by AndreyB »

Let's start with Renault Nissan (?) part number 237535TA2A

Electronic, very much with brushes... Half of the actuator sits on the cam, the other is inside the black magic? See the video for yourself.

Next goes Mazda 235100-0873 which might be used on ND2 Miata. Next step is finding one for under $100 in US or sourcing from Europe :)

Hyundai went simpler, just the brushes without the sensor?

Wire colors...
Do we have a pinout/wiring diagram?
I'm 95% sure about 12V power and ground - this is two pin connector.
4 pin connector (actually 5 position, but used only 4) - 3 pins looks like digital inputs/outputs. And one looks like power to MCU, may be 5V?

Two fuses for one VVT, smells like extremely high current
