Hello everyone. Newcomer here. I have a Corvette C4 1984 with TBI (two injectors) that I plan to play with. I'm a software engineer and have some amateur skills with electronics and hardware, so should be capable of handling that.
I'm pretty new to the scene, so please forgive me for my potential lameness.
Is there software TBI support in rusEFI board? It's a V8 with two injectors, one per bank. Is that setup supported? I understand that the injectors might be low-resistant (high amps), and not be supported by rusEFI boards, but I guess it should be possible to make a custom injector driver that is controlled by GPIO.
How is the overall performance of rusEFI compared to vanilla ECUs? Is it matching/exceeding? How are the management algorithms?
My goal is to spend time fun, and build a future-proof platform where I can experiment with EFI. For now, the built-in ECU is the most limiting factor because it can't be even re-flashed (you need to burn another chip every time). Eventually, I'd like to improve the O2 sensor (wb), ignition (from distribution to coil-near-plug), MAF sensor, etc.
Having a non-standard setup actually would help me to dive more into the custom EFI world
