Optimizing EFI Project for V8 Engines

Hello, I am a 45 year old mechanic and currently have a project to convert an EFI to a V8 engine. My system is set up to run with spark ignition, batch fuel injection with timing adjusted via ignition board, 4 wire GM Idle Control Valve (IAC). I would also like to integrate a variable valve timing (VVT) system if possible. I am wondering if rusEFI is the right choice to implement? Thanks for the advice.
