I need some advises to begin with RusEFI on a KIA Rio

Post by Evan.CDN »

Hello everyone :) ,

I'm new with RusEFI project, and would like run a KIA Rio 3 1.25L CVVT with rusefi ECU to learn more about the project.

Some informations about the car :
  • 4 cylindres 1.25L gasoline atmospherique
  • CVVT, cam pashing for intake and exhaust (Two camshaft position sensor and two solenoid).
  • crankshaft sensor
  • Electronic throttle
I seen a thread about a KIA Rio running with Proteus (https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2540&start=30).

I want to use microRusEFI, but it's possible to use it with two cam phaser ? On the microRusEFI pinout i see only one camshaft sensor input.
Should I use proteus instead of microRusEFI ?

1.2 L Kappa MPi I4 engine? You are linking to a GDI engine Rio which is a very very different story altogether.

on microRusEFI you can use "22 - AN temp 4" or "24 - AN temp 3" as second CAN input let me actually reflect it in the pinout but overall with microRusEFI you are on the edge of running out if input/outputs pins. You would have to very carefully plan your wiring to confirm MRE would be sufficient or go with much larger Proteus.

Yes it's exactly the 1.2 L Kappa MPi I4 engine.

I currently reverse all engine side electronic with helpfull kia documentation (https://www.kiamanual.com/kia-rio/circuit_diagram-333 (M/T)).

Thanks I thought hall sensors had a special circuit before the ADC, but it's directly connected to the ADC.

At this moment I think microRusEFI should be enough, i will carefully plan my wiring to confirm (or not).
