[help needed] 6.5 HP (212cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine EPA with rusEFI Help

Hello all,

I am working on a university project that requires an ECU for 6.5 HP 212cc gas engine.

I asked my professor about open source engine management software and he pointed me at rusEFI. I am very overwhelmed by rusEFI because it has gotten so big! I have no idea where to start with trying to apply a rusEFI ECU to a single cylinder engine. Does anyone have any idea where to start?
Any help would be much appreciated.
