http://rusefi.com/hardwave/176122-6/ would be our first ECU connector breakout board. This TE connector is used on some Mazdas and Hondas from the 90, and since both of my Fords are Mazdas (fine, they are also Kias) - they use this connector.
www.ebay.com/itm/121122884285 would be one of the places where you can buy the connector.

I have found three more TE ECU connector part numbers. TE tech support people do a great job!
http://rusefi.com/hardwave/963063-2 used by Germans in the 90s,
http://rusefi.com/hardwave/174836-5 used by Nissan in the 90s,
http://rusefi.com/hardwave/368255-2 still used by some Asian brands.

For those looking for the Festiva ECU plug (two plug) I think this is the right one:

It seems to be the same as the one listed on MSquirt for the Festiva, and you just won't use the whole thing.

I think this four-section one would work for Festiva, but the three-section one is also totally fine - this one

The outer sections would be the one Festiva/Escort GT/older Miata would use and the smaller middle one would stay unused.

Even better - I didn't realize the aspire unit had two of the same plugs. Is the wiring within the plugs the same/similar? I've never looked at an aspire schematic.

The Aspire unit is made by Mitsubishi - it's a totally different unit, so the wiring is totally different. But that's a small detail

I just confirmed that this is also the connector for the EDC15 used in ALH VW TDIs sold in the US between 2000-2003. (I.E. what I need for my 2003 Golf).

Sweet! I did not find where to buy the connector new and cheap in low quantity, I am not ready to buy 200 pieces from China

Jared has created a KiCad module for this connector but the board is not finished yet (the topic is here on the forum). You can source a used connector in a junk yard - they are used on ~2004 Korean cars and these cars are already in the yards. If you brake the board right at the yard you can get the used connector for under $10.
