Hi rusEFI Forum,

quick introduction. I am one of over 500 DF Goblin Kit https://dfkitcar.com/ owner. A car which is based on the Chevy Cobalt. Myself, I am a tinker, I love open source and helped with development of several projects if time allows. My programming hobby career started over 20 years ago with assembler and a deep understanding of microcontroller and ended up with self made Android apps :D

A popular engine in the Goblin is the LSJ which is a 2.0L supercharged with electronic Throttle Body and operated with the P12 ECU. The P12 ECU has several shortfalls and is not well supported by HP Tuners. Here is an overview of the different possible engines in the car. http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/making-hp-lnf-lsj-le5-lap-vs-l61.2309/post-90705

I started to a project to get an aftermarket ECU fitted to the engine. I ended up with the rusEFI as it seems to be the most promising.

Some key features for me would be:
Connection of the rusEFI to the current wiring harness without repining the plugs on the engine harness.
I want to be able to switch between the P12 and the rusEFI in less than 30min.

There is a way to connect a E67 ECU to the LSJ and I was wondering if we could use the E67 as a basis for that. I created the following table which outlines the P12 connectors, the E67 connectors which is in another engine and the E67 rusEFI. It turns out that this is not possible and would require repining of the harness.

Right now, I am thinking of making an PCB adapter which connects to a standard rueEFI.

My first question would be: Which is the best rusEFI to start with?

Once a rusEFI is selected, I can make a wiring diagram and develop the PCB to connect the engine harness to the rusEFI.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome!

You would have to decide which one is best for you. Hopefully would help

I think at the moment the uaEFI would be ok. I would solder the wires from the uaEFI to the adapter PCB board directly and then plug in the Engine harness to the PCB board. I have to find out what the size of the PCB will be and design an enclosure myself. Might change to the uaEFI 121 if I exceed what the uaEFI is capable off. Available output/input would be nice to have in the table as well.

I know that the E67 is not an open hardware design, but I am having issues finding those plugs. I find plenty of plugs building the harness side, but non of them for the PCB side. Could you share the source of those plugs? They are oblivious necessary for a plug in adapter.

The P12 has the same connectors but different count: P12 2x 56 and 1x 73, the E67s have 1x 56 and 2x 73.

Awesome, I think I start with the uaEFI, if I exceed the capabilities I will use the uaEFI121. Max Input/Output Numbers would be helpful in that list.

I am having a hard time finding the PCB plugs needed to mate to the engine harness. The P12 has the same plugs as the E67, just a different count.
The P12 has 2x 56 and 1x 73, the E67s have 1x 56 and 2x 73.

Needed:
56-Way F Micro 64 Sealed (BU) --> 2x the male version if possible with solder connection are needed.

73-Way F GT 280 Micro 64 Sealed (BK) -- > 1x the male version is needed if possible with solder connection.

Thanks, do you have the part number for the 73 pin connector too?
