Just got two boards for $21.60 shipped- that's $10.80 for one board shipped - this is pretty amazing, we get SD card module, battery for real time clock and even some flash memory chip!

A bit of a down-side is the fact that the board comes with the pins soldered so if we were to mount it on some larger board we would have to flip it and not have access to reset & user buttons or LCDs.

Board is documented at https://wiki.stm32duino.com/index.php?title=STM32F407 including schematics at https://wiki.stm32duino.com/images/5/5c/STM32_F4VE_SCHEMATIC.PDF

This board is shorter but wider comparing with stm32f4discovery.

Actually, there is an option to buy same board with the header not soldered - they call it "DIY pin header"

Way fewer sellers both on eBay and aliexpress but same $10ish price.

Schematic?? How do the IO from that SD and other devices conflict with the existing IO? Do we have any significant IO issues?

What's the purpose, just for fun?

It eliminates the need for an SD card and a coin battery, and it's twice cheaper than the original discovery (in case you fried it)
But I guess it's not pin compatible with disco board? And the chip itself is sort of old?

I believe some brain board would be needed for the most DIY-friendly of our boards, whatever that board would be.

And we have rusEfi running inside this board!

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/blob/master/firmware/config/boards/STM32F407VET6_Black.bat was used to change blinking LED to PA7, $2 st-link clone was used to program.
