Hi all:
My name is Cory and I'm hoping to get started soon. I got a stm32f4-discovery board in the mail today, but I cant seem to get eclipse to play. I got cygwin and sourcery installed and i get the verification from the cmd line that its all there and working. Eclipse cant find the jre and I've searched and have not found a way to make it work. Also the latest release of ChibOS doesnt have a "tools" folder so I cant get that to work either. If anyone has fixed similar problems I am all ears on how to proceed. I would like to start with the tachometer example and then get it working with TunerStudio and work form there as I can learn and understand how it all works.
I am currently running a Microsquirt based DIYPNP in a 93 Honda Accord with a turbo, and would love to see what this can do, and how much I can learn! It was fun to build the Megasquirt, but now I am interested in learning how everything works and RUSEFI seems like just the ticket.

Welcome to the club! I also think that rusEfi is a great way to learn, that is why I do it

As for your technical issues, let's address them one by one. Do i read it right that your wclipse would not start? Do you know if you have java installed? Can you post a shot of the error dialog? Hyperdesktop is a great tool for auch shots

I got it all working after a couple hours last night. I had to reinstall java and it worked.
Now the question I have is. I downloaded the IAR embedded toolchain for ARM, and the tachometer file containing the source. When I try to build it I get an error message that says it cant open ch.h. Do I need to download anything else?
I'm excited to get this going, but I'm brand new to embedded systems and development.

The tach archive is more like a skeleton - it does not have all the ChibiOS files and it does not have IAR project for sure. I suggest you simply fire up the whole project - it might be easier. And it would work as a tachometer for sure, so you can skip a separate tach project phase and start working with the whole firmware right away. The 'software' sub-forum has most of the entry points but I am here to help if you have any questions

Can you please start a new thread in the 'your car' sub-forum with some details on your cam and crank sensors setup?
