hey guys new here and hopefully will get some of these projects done between 2021 and 2022 so i can enjoy them not just stare at them.
tackling 2 sort of at the same time.
1; taking a 99 cl600 w140 coupe and transplanting a m156 6.3l amg WITH a manual transmission for something different. yes i know i am pulling out a good m120 and there is NOTHING wrong with that engine and yes i have a few more of these cars so i can do as i please with them.

2; taking a 2006 cl500 w215 and planting a m156 with a manual transmission in to this car also.

not going to do any crazy engine upgrades or any stupid loud/rumbly exhaust. just a clean conversion that looks genuine and runs well.
no i am not going to use the shorty v6 manual trannys from the c classe mb's, they may work but with the torque and the fact that i will be driving these cars well into the 100k mile range i would prefer not to go that route. i will be utilizing the tremec tranny with a modified bellhousing for a direct boltin without any adapter plates. far as flywheel those will be sourced from europe as they have already been designed and will need minimal work to adapt to the tremec. why manual? well that is what i like and my personal choice, nothing wrong with the amg auto built trannies but i prefer to be in full control of my car.

far as electronics and combining systems in the cars to factory..**** the factory canbus and all the bs that goes with that. hopefully with the guys here i will be able to have a fully independent system that will function from an analog speedometer on the w140, the w215 will likely need to source a different speedo from a european car or a C classe that uses the analog instead of the canbus.
far as intergrating the rest of the systems i will not be doing that, majority will be deleted/disabled and what will be kept will run off the factory ignition that will be tied into the new system ecu.
the hydraulic syspension will stay on both cars..it works well (yes its expensive to repair/maintain) that is part of the MB luxury that i do enjoy and am happy to deal with repairing it as needed. its not scary or overly complicated just takes knowledge/tools and wisdom to fab/rework parts to make it better.

**guys/gals dont ask me about parts for the cars. later on this year i will post a detailed post regarding what parts/cars i will sell and pricing.

pardon the dirty/dusty fotos, yes that is my big ass garage with 11 cars and there are other things besides cars there so they stay dirty since i dont drive them often..in 19 and 20 i only drove 2 of them less than 10k miles each, the rest only get the customary every three month start and run for an hour or so.

Ohhh I want that m120 for my collection.

m156 would be the fanciest engine for us but we can do it. It's port injected so we can get it running and driving.

That's the 154 pin connector which looks same as my GDI 2006 passat. I have these connectors new https://www.ebay.com/itm/333606651255 and I have breakt out boards to make soldering wires easier https://www.ebay.com/itm/333586437475 - you might want two sets, one for initial experiments and second one for later cleaner install.

Less good news - my "source" of wiring diagrams does not have AMG wiring diagrams. Do you have engine wiring diagrams for any of the m156 cars?

Still, I believe that this is a ME9.7 ECU which means that the pinout is similar to other vehicles which use ME9.7 and I have wiring diagrams for at least some of these ME9.7 vehicles - that gives us 80% of the wiring info, that definitely gives us enough to get the ball rolling. Those are at https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Mercedes-9.7

My suggestion is to get a Proteus with harness and case https://www.ebay.com/itm/333867726828 https://www.ebay.com/itm/333841923141

Shit, I am jealous about your garage.

Nooooope, I am wrong. That's not the 154 pin connector I have. The overall style is very similar but different connector.
Passat connector is 60+94=154 while yours is 96+58=154

96+58 connector is Aptiv Delphi 13830808 and it's also available new. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Aptiv-formerly-Delphi/13830808/?qs=%2Fha2pyFadujbHfqevkjj%252B4wXBLx28HjttGKtEAAyD%252BPYE9g43SP3rA%3D%3D

I will commission a breakout board for that connector it would take about a month. We can either wait a month or start the experiments by sacrificing one connector for direct connector to wire soldering.
