Vvt Mx5 Na

Hi to all i run a mx5 with ms2 actually and I don't like dealing with the ms2 hardware.... I have a vvt engine and look like I am free to do anything with rusefi. I can build any hardware outside the mcu. I can do some pcb myself. I'm looking for a stripped down brain board pcb only or populated to avoid delicate mcu soldering.I prefer avoir the already done board because I don't like useless hardware. I have some experience with smd soldering but honestly it piss me off....... All my homemade board are traditional components.
Some questions also.
Engine definition is lost only in case of firmware update? Do I need to load manually the engine definition ?
Thanks a lot for something that is powerful free and really true DIY.

Hi thanks for your reply.
About rusefi I try to understand what exactly is rusefi.
I tried to run your simulator but on the last tunerstudio free i can't find the connection described in the wiki.
About the hardware i am still thinking what to do.
Maybe I just gonna order a demo board with rusefi already flashed to try.
I really want to improve my level with mcu programming also.
I just wish rusefi gonna stay free and open source like actually. Simple and easy to handle.
The Prometheus board look excellent but a bit complicated for diy fan. If one board is available for testing my car is ready to switch between ms2 and rusefi Prometheus.
If I can find a brainboard populated and build a tough hole hardware im happy. My feelings is really wish to do something that all people can build at home with limited material.
Frankenso and Frankenstein board ar not really matching my car. I have bmw tps. gm intake temperature sensor. 36 1 trigger 306s16 vr sensor lm1815 vr circuit. original mx5 cam sensor with home made single toot disc. Techedge wideband.
I plan to ad gm flex fuel sensor and boost solenoid.
I have two engine. A b6 that I prepare for turbo and a bp vvt.
I search cheap forged piston for the b6 turbo if someone have a good deal please share.
Thanks for all your work rusefi look excellent.
Thank you

Can I just ask you why you use that complicated hardware with opamp all the places and why you don't use a 5v mcu.
It is a special reason behind this ?

Do you know a 5V 32 bit or better processor with floating point unit? At the time it was a low cost decent sized bit pump with some hardware which makes it very nice to deal with floating math.

Ok sorry for my newbie reply on the post in hall sensor buffer.
My level of knowledge about mcu is not high and now I understand the proposal of opamp buffer.
If possible.... I am thinking it's better to use a more expensive mcu and do economic and simple hardware.
Let's try rusefi.
Thank you for your work.

Do this board can be a good brainboard ?

This board is known to work.
https://sourceforge.net/p/rusefi/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/hardware/brain_board_STM32F407_SD_wing-it/
As well if one does not want the discovery board, they can simply populate the STM chip on the frankenso board.
If you want to design something with that board, feel free. It's one of the great things about open source.

Yes sir that's what I am thinking to do.
Design something that just match my requirements with that board as brainboard. All with trough hole components and home printed pcb single or dual layer.
If I can achieve this im too much happy.
I gonna order a discovery board for try then also this violet board to see if I can do something funny.
It's only 9 dollars......

Has your stm32f4discovery showed up - did you have success connecting to it?
What is the exact URL for violet $9 board I am curious to read more about it.
