ECU suggestion?

Post by ConceptzX »

Hello, I have a LMM Duramax diesel I'd like to learn on before swapping to a L5P engine. I'm doing compound VGT turbos and would like a suggestion as far as hardware that would be capable of running this? rusEFI responded to me on Github last night saying it would be possible, and I'm curious as to what version I'd be best to choose. I'd like to control things like fuel pressure, boost pressure for both stages, intercooler water pump, electric fans, alternator output voltage, and using sensors for 2 EGT's, Wideband O2, wideband knock (2 sensors), Coolant temp, ambient temp, turbo rpms, crank, cam, airflow, etc.

Can you please make a hardware recommendation and explain its I/O capabilities, I want to ensure I have a little extra room if I decide to push things further in the future as well and I realize I may have to massage some things in the code to achieve this but I want to ensure it has the capability.

Right now, I'm looking at something like a Haltech Elite 2500, Nexus R3, R5, or Motec M181 for the task. Its a daily driver too so I'd be making an adapter and data logging the current engine operation so I can run the current tuned OEM ecu and switch to the other while tuning until I have a sufficient basemap to work from.

Where does it say that we support diesel again? Looks like some sort of a misunderstanding, we do not :(

I was really hoping it might be possible. Here is a link to the thread where I was told it was possible

Proteus and gdi8 boards would be a good starging point to start developing all this for whoever has skills to debelop this further.

Thank you, what about the e92x and new E92 prototype board? Can you give me a quick rundown of the differences between these? Does any one have a more detailed mapping capability, What are the max injector voltages? or is it mostly just all I/O differences?

I'd like to find the best platform to develop from here not purchase a board to find it isn't even possible to drive the injectors. I like the higher cpu frequency of Proteus but I don't believe it'll drive injectors internally. Having I/o options matters to me as well because I'm be developing it for a dual vgt turbo Duramax.LMM, then moving to an L5P once I have it operational and I finish the swap.
