I've been lurking around the forum and though some electrical and code is and has been over my head it would seem general consensus is some sort of oscilloscope really makes this conversion easier. My question is given a person was able to get them for some place in a relative price point, which is better, dedicated 20mhz dual channel oscilloscope, mini ARM oscilloscope or digital storage oscilloscope? I had a good old one back in the states but not here.... Thanks for your help....

I really like my DSO QUAD. It's crazy that amount of stuff they crammed into this think for low $. Several software upgrades, and community additions after the initial quad has been obtained.

I hardly imagine it would allow you trace problems with your inductive CPS or make any conclusions regarding the physical shape and soundness of your engine… I guess in this case the best option is an old-type CRT scope (though haven't had any experience with any scopes at all in my life)

In this case I'm guessing KB has enough experience to go by his suggestion, thanks for the input....

The cons of DSO Quad - tiny screen and only four channels. I wonder what would be the best cost effective 8 channel something which can work with a larger, maybe external screen, and be directly controlled by a laptop maybe?

I see there are pieces for $3000 and up, but I guess these are too precise and too nice for our relatively slow applications, is that right? We do not need it it be precise/fast/whatever, do we? Just larger and more capable, while pretty basic in terms of specs. Hope I make some sense

Input Voltage Range would be the problem.

what's the difference from the real oscope? what about voltage divider?

Can you connect a standard 1X, 10X or 100X probe to it? I don't know the input's impedance. A 10X probe relies on the scope having a standardized impedance, then they put a resistor divider in the probe, such that the scope sees a lower voltage. If the inputs have that standard impedance, then you could physically connect a 10X probe. However I don't know how to actually do it. I know some BNC adapters, but I'm not sure how I would get that into this device.

I've found an 8 Channel Hantech reasonably priced on eBay that I think is the go for me. Also a 3x solder station so I can assemble my board. Once I have these items I'll be assembling. I never put something this small together so I want correct tooling to do so.
The engine n transmission are in but my daughter has lost the rubber seal for the valley or the intake would be on...
