Black E36 1995 325i test mule (pre-OBDII)
My nth test mule is a track-focused, stock-engined 325is coupe from 1995. 274,000 miles. No interior to speak of. AC works.
Because 186hp at the crank is not much, we need more rusEFI to release ALL THE POWER!

Re: '71 240Z w/ '82 280ZX L28 MRE project
Welcome to rusEFI! That sounds like a fun and interesting project. The 240Z is one of the best looking cars ever to come out of Japan and that straight-6 is silky-smooth. I didn't quite understand how you were planning on getting a crank or cam signal into the MRE unit. Can you please elaborate? Als...

Re: 2003 VVT turbo miata dev mule
My stock NB1 bottom threw some rods and side-vented the block at around 14psi. at 12 psi it showed around 230hp on Virtual Dyno at 5500rpm or so. 10 psi was 205 (I think) on a Mustang. But that was in 2012 and I can't remember that far back. There seem to be a few stock bottom ends that can handle a...

Welcome to the forum. Which ECU are you currently running? Any dyno runs from the car? (A selfish question- I have a Kraken high mount with 2560R ready to go, once my NB1 with NB2 engine is rescued from its' current state of complete disassembly)

Screenshot of a log running Hellen72c on the Jimstim with "instandrpm" enabled. SD card logging did not work, so the logging speed is a bit slow, but instantrpm shows nice and steady rpms. Not ziggy-zaggy as one would expect when the teeth of the crank sensor are not where they are expecte...

You are correct. The firmware is the same, the jumpers are different. The tune will be different too to deal with the different engine size and some different I/O.

Re: The Lemon and Beer Money Motorsports
Welcome!
Price, performance and quality of the PnP units should really meet the sweet spot for Miata builders.
How about some more details on the Lemon? Kraken setup? What turbo? Built bottom end? Dyno graph?

Sorry- I thought you were trying to capture VSS. Reading comprehension fail.
I have 0 experience with those sensors. No AT experience at all. Looks like standard VR sensors though. One for turbine input (should be RPM I guess?) and one for output (should be output shaft speed divided by gear ratio).

Re: [NA6 1991 Miata, MRE48] How to convert to Kia TPS
You can leave R22 installed. It's just a pull-up which will essentially run parallel with the TPS, not really causing any harm.
Please note that the KIA TPS solution is, to the best of my knowledge, as of yet untested.

Re: Deceleration Settings (91' NA Miata B6ZE)
Make sure the throttle can close all the way. Many an idle-tuning session has been fubared by throttles cracked open slightly and randomly.
Also: NA6 Miata idle valve is funky. Sometimes the rpm goes up at lower settings. At least so I've heard- I have not confirmed this myself.

Re: Honda OBD1 CKP/CYP/TDC simulate signals
The Jimstim can "emulate" something similar to a VR output- it simply runs a square-wave signal through a capacitor which creates a 0-crossing similar to what a VR output looks like. It's crude, but MAY work for you. No idea if your specific trigger configuration is included. http://www.jb...

Re: 1993 Mazda Miata
Then I'm pretty sure it's fuel. I just found a log of my car idling. The mass air flow at 1000rpm is around 13.5kg/hr. This results in an injection pulse of approx 2.3ms. You are showing a mass air flow of around 22.5kg/hr, resulting in approx. 3.2ms injector opening. So your car is getting approx. ...

Re: 1993 Mazda Miata
Did you crack open the throttle to keep it running in that last log? If not, your MAF readings in idle are quite different from what my old '91 used to get. Your voltage reading is lower, which results in higher calculated airflow and therefore more fuel added. If it's too much fuel, that explains t...

Re: 1993 Mazda Miata
It appears there is an issue with the default tune. The MAF sensor is on Pin 40. So the MAF input should be set to 40-AV9.

While I've never met anybody who actually removed the wideband to run a Narrowband, it may be feasible.
However, most widebands can emulate narrowbands and would therefore not throw an error code, if installed and set up correctly. So you can have your cake and eat it too.

Re: 1995 NA8 Miata - MicroRusEFI PnP
The buzzing you hear most likely comes from the IAC valve. This is controlled by PWM. We may have to change the frequency. Nothing to worry about for now. I am going to assume that you are not seeing RPMs on the tach and this is why you asked about making the tach work. The tach should just work out...

Re: 1995 NA8 Miata - MicroRusEFI PnP
Andrey B is correct. We do not have a verified calibration curve (transfer function) for this MAF. As near as I can tell, at idle your air-flow should be approx 7-10kg/h. This is what I get with the NA6. Your MAF calibration seems to be reporting 2.0 kg/h or so, according to your log. The NA6 calib...
