Re: Wideband Controller: Fully Custom, no ASIC!
I am developing a carrier board to support dual controller modules. They will share the +5v power supply and the CAN output. Electrically, it will appear on the bus as two nodes. I added termination bits to the board as I imagine this will be one of few, if not the only, CAN device being used with r...

Re: E85 / Flex fuel logic
Very excited to see the progress on the flex fuel sensor. Any recommendations/requirements as to which pin to use? I know it has to be configured as open drain with a pull-up. On proteus any digital input will work. On MRE, you should be able to use the analog temp inputs or the cam input. Analog v...

Re: Wideband Controller: Fully Custom, no ASIC!
The MCU is currently limited on the sample rate of the ADC. It can't really sample more at the same time without reducing accuracy or going to a faster MCU with multiple ADCs. The plug-in module is only ~$12, so it would be super easy to just plop two of them down on a single carrier board. Shared ...

Re: Wideband Controller: Fully Custom, no ASIC!
Is there a possibility of making this a dual channel device? Duplicate the input stage, use some of the unused pins of the STM and feed the output of both channels to the mcu? With the CAN protocol, each sensor can have a different output ID. Either interface for that matter. I like the idea of it b...

Re: contact-less CAN reader
My guess is the comparator is used in Schmitt trigger fashion to amplify the induced voltages from the coils (air-core transformer) laid into the board. That signal is then fed to the CAN transceiver to drive the CAN output. Differential signal in, easy to amplify. As the site said, RS-485 is compat...

The connector does have pins 1, 20, 41 and 60 identified. The numbers are stamped in the plastic very near the open side of the connection where the harness plugs in.

94 Ford Taurus SHO
I have a question after doing some testing on the factory crank and cam sensors. They are hall effect with 0 or 12v output. No pull-up or down resistors in the OEM circuit. 1. Does this need to be fed to the MAX VR conditioner or the alternate signal inputs with a voltage divider (inputs 9 and 11)? ...

Frankenso stencils
Just ordered some stencils for the frankenso board from oshstencils.com. We'll see how they work, I think it would help the daunting task of getting the right amount of paste on each of those tiny pads. I'm open to a buy forward model of sharing the stencils when I'm done with them. Edit: is there a...

I went and ordered one of these just to see how it fits the board and case. I'll post pictures and details to gather opinion on whether this is a thing to be considered.SHOf429 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:11 amhttps://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Amphenol-Commercial-Products/MUSB-B151-34?qs=VZGfJwuufXb%2Fe4T3MvbasQ%3D%3D

Re: Possible future hardware low side driver CJ950
Looks like Infineon TLE6244X is the same thing, possibly labeled as Bosch CJ950.
https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Application_Note-TLE6244x.pdf
At the risk of redundancy, has this already been investigated?

On average Bosch chips do not have detailed 90 pages datasheets. With a 2 page product information sheet there is nothing we can do about those chips. Indeed I noticed that. Does not bode well for anybody outside a large OEM. Perhaps they get enough revenue from their corporate customers they don't...
