But software wise they are - there are currently zero restrictions about which pins can do what (at least for injection/ignition sort of things). The firmware won't stop you from outputting an injector signal on an ignition channel.

Re: XCP over CAN using A2L file
On the one hand still curious to build a bench setup using cheap used parts, on the other hand there is no market here and I should spend time on cooler stuff simply because frontend is not available. a bench setup using what devices that support ZCP, and using what software to speak XCP to them? It's either a shunt or a hall effect sensor.
Aside: Lots of hall effect ones available that you just tape around the battery cable and have regular ground/power/voltage output. Ford makes a few that are on a bazillion different vehicles.

Still waiting for final confirmation on above mentioned case regarding using generic firmware on F407xxxx LQFP64 MCU. Would love to have some peace of mind on that particular issue before I get in too deep 😅🤞🏼 The generic firmware will work fine. It really is worth adding your own configuration for...

Re: New 4-cyl ECU design
Just curious, why would you use CLT input, on air cooled project ?? As far as the ECU is concerned, CLT is just a proxy for CHT. It's used to estimate air density at the valve, since the intake/head are hot and transfer some heat to the air as it passes by, particularly at low flow (idle/low thrott...

Re: New 4-cyl ECU design
The smaller chips have ADC3, but it overlaps some pins used by ADC1/2. They’re missing port F, so they only have the channels that overlap ADC1/2 channels (the bigger chips have those overlapped pins too, but also some more on port F). No reason knock sense won’t work on one of those channels.

we can at least hand 'em a fish this time, the relevant output to read in this case is called internalMcuTemperature, so you'd call
Code: Select all
getOutput('internalMcuTemperature')

Re: ETB with single TPS input - 2016+ GM/Daewoo
That 20khz line in the datasheet is sort of a lie. The datasheet says this: image.png So while it's "good" up to 20khz: Worst case the switching time of a full cycle could be 80us. 1 / 80us = 12.5khz. Best case the switching time would be 10us. Best case 10us switching time at 20khz would ...

well it's certainly 9600 baud 8n1 serial, probably bidirectional on that one line. So it's effectively LIN/kline.

Re: Honda Acty 660 3cyl E07A carb to EFI
I'm looking at available options for trigger hardware, leaning towards an optical sensor due to the small space available. Can we decode this AEM cam wheel for Nissan? It looks like the Honda 1+24 pattern should work. https://www.aemelectronics.com/sites/default/files/product_image_product_sections...

Re: Trigger Setup GM Ecotec 1.4 LV7 60/2 + Bosch Quick Start
The ECU is seeing your trigger input, but the timing is wrong for a 60-2, so it's possibly inverted.
ps: it looks like you're cranking with no plugs in, there's almost no engine speed variation?

Re: Trigger Setup GM Ecotec 1.4 LV7 60/2 + Bosch Quick Start
Have you followed the trigger setup guide here? https://wiki.rusefi.com/Trigger-Configuration-Guide/ The tl;dr is that your trigger may need to have "invert" set - have a look at the trigger shape in the trigger logger in TunerStudio (you can also save the trigger log from TS as a CSV, and...

I've discovered an issue with my setup. ETB only works with USB connected. As soon as I disconnect the USB cable from my laptop the throttle powers off. Reconnect and it powers on. It doesn't matter if Tunerstudio is running or not. Any idea what's wrong? we've seen this before, can you hop on our ...

Re: ETB with single TPS input - 2016+ GM/Daewoo
What would it take to make MRE work with SENT ETB? I do have a 40mm Bosch Motorsport ETB here that I can make work, I'm guessing that would be the simplest solution. Yes, running a conventional analog throttle body is the simplest solution. SENT support on rusEFI is in its infancy, and if you want ...

Or, if this is for an ETB retrofit to some other engine, there is probably another ETB that’s mechanically the same, but analog TPS instead of SENT that may be easier to use.

Re: 1999 Ford F150 with 4R70w (eventually 4R100)
Proteus has injector drivers onboard, no need to add those.
As for ignition, there are indeed no coil drivers, but it may be easier for you to switch to a smart coil (like the ones used on LS engines).

and it uses same analog input to measure vbat dron and I talked about this strategy and it has some real downsides (such as that it kind of doesn't work). Regular "voltage divider to analog pin" vbatt sense implemented in https://github.com/mck1117/wideband/commit/6831f5a1ae87e985e1e40e1f...
