Tore an instrument cluster apart from an 05 Malibu. Hmmmm.... Just a funny little 5v stepper motors... Add that to my to do list. Possible arduino driven dash cluster.
I have 2 bosh 4.2 wbo2 sensors. Has anyone used the apsx diy wb controller boards? How's the response time on that board?

Most likely will need 18" rims for these.

Thanks again guys!

Front 355mm rotors from a ford.
The original size front rotors and calipers will now replace the rears.

Re: 02 pontic grand am "Frankenslut" v-6
Found some lq4 coils at the junkyard today(the ones with cooling fins). About the same as the ls2 coil schematic.
Should I use caps like this suggests?
I vaguely remember these may have a delay in millis, I would assume that's from the fet and/or ignitor.

Re: 02 pontic grand am "Frankenslut" v-6
Found some more tinkering time.. Managed to almost complete the ecu and got it to light up. Had to pat self on back for doing all that with one hand functional. Got to work on the values my sensors have for the final resistors and finish last of the diodes under the board. Taking break for today.

Found this while digging.
The 24x crank reluctor looks to be 24 even spaces with no sync pulse.

On the knock sensor crystal, I was sent an 4mhz. The schematic/bom is calling for 8mhz, which do I use?

Re: 02 pontic grand am "Frankenslut" v-6
If the sensor can handle it, I would like the resolution. I don't think I have ever tested the 24x at higher than 4k when a block learn is done. So it will hit 4k, maybe the 8k mark might be do-able. Maybe get running on the 7x with frankdenso, then work/sniff out the 24x sensor. Gm v6 60 degree LA1

Re: 02 pontic grand am "Frankenslut" v-6
On the 24x external crank, when I was digging in code, seemed like it was only used below 2000rpm for better resolution, then the ecu would switch to internal 7x crank. Gm was pretty funny about that. I could dig around to find the signal pattern for the 24x, but I may not use it if it can't go all ...

Re: Mill
I stand corrected, sorry about that. Leadshine Hybrid servo drives and easy servo motors.
Each motor has two encoders, one for the drive, and one I added for indexing/position tracking.

I have these db25 cards, cables, and nema23 steppers you could have, unsure of torque rating(2 are single shaft, 2 are double shaft. Have not found the other box of misc parts, yet. I did not want to use a separate controller and pc, but that's where I ended up. Yes, they have pids I can change alon...
Re: Mill
Big old home built in 1896 with 2 1\2 foot foundation and brick work. You barely have time to react when things go wrong, for sure. ;) They are called hybrids from the manufacturer(hbs86). I think the "hybrid" part is how the stepper and stepper driver pid controller loop " acts"...
Re: Mill
heres a few pics of my setup. i really wanted to use linuxcnc. i have not had problem with missing steps with these hybrid setups, if they did, it goes into e-stop. the only reason i know that is due to my stupidity. i did not tighten a 13mm carbide fully. ten minutes later at 10,000 rpm, 2500mm cut...

Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
i did not like dealing with the oem datastream, fighting through the unknowns, staring at hex for hours, and finding the limits of the delco. no more of that for me. i may have mispoke, 40 pids/s, meaning to say 40 parameters a sec(rpm,volts,temp,adv,o2,fuel level, fans, ect). used the laptop or the ...

Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
Yes, can bus is the way to go. I had stripped down the data stream on the obd2 and still was horribly slow on the grand am for logging. I even disassembled the bin with idapro, and did some hacking(automatic trans to manual trans segment swap, fualt code removing, and more). Lol, I have a nice big p...

Re: Mill
SWEET! I was going to get one of those, but decided to build my own system due to my light rail lengths I build. I tried using linuxcnc, and spent about 6 months worth of effort, even compiled my own versions. very disappointed in the functionality and reliability. very slow. Ended up buying a csmio...

Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
Thai you for the quick response. I will go ahead and purchase the v4 kit now, and wait a lil bit on the v5. I can donate some milling time and a carbide bit on my cnc router to cut some aluminum cases and or covers, would need some 6061 aluminum chunks/plates. :) Most likely going to mill an aluminu...

I have a 1170mm x 2450mm X 200mm cut path cnc router I have learned how to cut 6061 aluminum with down to .01mm resolution. (still learning the differences from cutting wood to aluminum) I don't know if that will help or not.. Willing to experiment, practice. lol. Plastic injection or vacuum forming...

Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
Sorry for such a long delay. My really nice msi gt70 laptop died(apparent main board fail) while flashing one of the five Arduino mega2560 on my 3000 watt led system(yes, you will get sun burnt working under them @ 40% power!). Even worse, when she went, it corrupted all three hard drives and my pro...

Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
I understand on the van. I have set up my wiring harness for easy access and will prolly build another harness for testing/setting up frankenso. Re: Hello from Milltucky Mi
I use my android tablet for a dashboard right now, torque pro, built my own obd2 adapter. With rusefi i think there is huge possibilities with anroid linked dash. I t...
