Re: Why make your own custom board?
I note that you say "custom board (hardware)" not "custom ECU (hardware+firmware)". I agree that have to make some changes to the firmware is a unwanted step. The ASIC problem is very complex. Even the simplest IC such as a MAX9924/25 can be seen as a ASIC. TLE9201 is a awesome ...

Why make your own custom board?
I see the question come up now and then "Why do you make your own board when we have X or Y"? I'll try to explain MY take on the matter. First and foremost I enjoy making my own boards, CAD, designing, routing is something I love. Anyway here are some point that I see beneficial to make my...

Flexfuel Temp problem
I'm having some trouble with my flexfuel sensor. It reads the etanol content just fine but the temperature gives me headache. The signal from the sensor needs a pullup resistor and after that the signal looks like this: fuelTemp.jpg But the signal needs to look like this for temp reading to work. fu...

Re: 1987 Volvo 780
I took the Volvo out for a short spinn today. Mostly for testing the Tractioncontrol. The rearwheels is on auxSpeed1 and front/right is on vehiclespeed (VSS). Here are some logs: This one is with the auxSpeedMultiplier set to 0 https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?log=1354 Next one is set to 2 https:/...

Yes it's a 2x24 enclosure and the Superseal don't fit in that case, some butchering is needed
Sure I can put the code up on github but it's very specific to my car, and I'm sending the can-data via LUA.

I hacked together a display to go in my instrument cluster.
A ESP32 with CAN-Bus and a round gc9a01 display.

Re: Cranking RPM does nothing
You should not have a red error Trigger ERROR on the dashboard.
Cranking RPM is what it says: This sets the RPM limit below which the ECU will use cranking fuel and ignition logic.
And that is when to switch from:

Re: Cranking RPM does nothing
Something is weird with your trigger setup, you have selected 36/1 but have total count to 32?
You have CUSTOM_PRIMARY_TOO_MANY_TEETH = 9002, error
and CUSTOM_OUT_OF_ORDER_COIL = 9012.

I've not tested LIS2D yet, I'm waiting on my latest board for that. But if I understand it correct it 'should' work.
Where are you located? Maybe I can send one of my spares to you with a bung and everything.

I've investigated some more in my flexfuel-sensor problem, can't find any. Thing is that when the engine stalls (0 rpm) I get a nice clean signal but not when the engine runs. https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?log=1343 I don't want to bring my oscilloscope to the car but I guess I don't have any ch...

Re: 1987 Volvo 780
I understand, no problem.
One small problem I discovered is that every time I hit "Burn" the auxSpeed goes to zero and stays there.
After a reboot it's back again.

Re: 1987 Volvo 780
Can we use the "raw" VSS pulses to calculate with?
Now when VSS is 72km/h the auxSpeed neds to be at 72Hz to get slipratio 1
Or even better (but more work) to have a proper dialog for auxSpeed's with pulses per km and so on.

Can we/you make a change to the firmware to allow for use of the already existing VSS sensor?
That way we save a VR-input and less wires to be added in the car.

Nice!, I'll do some testing.
One problem might be that I don't think my car have the same number of pulses front/rear but I'll have to check.

You don't need to add analog MEMS into firmware.
But as SPI-MEMS is broken I've temporary done this hack

3. MEMS/Accelerometer, as of now I've connected a ADXL-335 to rawAnalogInput1 but it would be nice to have a more dedicated thing. I do not get it. What's the idea? Feed three analog signals from external MEMS? Let's please not do that. Let's either use a board with a supported SPI MEMS or let's us...
