Re: Software knock processing
Thanks Andrey. I wish I were more help on software, but looking at the code I feel like a six year old attempting to figure out how an Airbus A320 works.

it's currently only on some boards (Proteus and hellen?) Frankenso has totally different electronics for knock, the not-software but ASIC approach which did not work out for us. This thread saying "Software knock" means "not ASIC like on Frankenso" Understood, but what I'm askin...

Re: Software knock processing
I'd really like to use knock logic in my project, but I have Frankenso. I understand it's currently only on some boards (Proteus and hellen?). Is there a reason we can't activate the logic on other boards? I have no issue repinning the harness to put knock on ADC03.

Re: 1962 Ford Falcon - Grace
Thanks Andrey. I couldn't have done it without a lot of support from you and the rest of the community (particularly MCK and abricosvw). While I was changing over the ECU, I took the time to remake the wire harness (adding several sensors/actuators) and clean up the fuse panel. Before: https://1.bp....

Re: Teves mk60 Standalone ABS
Ooh awesome, I'm very interested in this. Will I ever get around to installing it on my own car? Probably not. But I like the idea of it. It would be really cool to see a programmable ABS ECU that could use more common hardware, as it's a bit tough to find the M3 system.

Re: 1962 Ford Falcon - Grace
Back to my long abandoned thread... I eventually figured out how to make the ETB, and maybe more importantly I learned several stupid mistakes to not make again. (don't set electronics on a metal surface, use loctite on your cam sprocket bolt, etc...) One big impediment to progress was that I had no...

Re: E85 / Flex fuel logic
Were you actually changing something to change the E content, or is there a bunch of noise somehow? As mentioned on slack, not changing fuel at all, just low fuel level and multiple key on/key offs (see battery voltage switching between 5-12v). So it may have seen some air bubbles and voltage swing...

What are the odds we get two in one day.
I'm also using the GM/Conti sensor. Not on a running vehicle mind you, but fuel running through the system it reads a value.

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
The ETB driver in my HW is a 2 channel freescale chip, 5A/channel. The ecu designer/manufacturer told me that on road race cars with big TBs and the throttle opening and closing all the time they had trouble with the chips overheating and shutting off the throttle so they had to change the programm...

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
I found this interesting. efihardware.com is using the guts of a normal Bosch motorsport throttle body and putting it into their own case, which is more convenient for mounting. https://www.efihardware.com/products/3196/drive-by-wire-actuator-dbw Specifications Mating Connector Part number C-06FR1-3...

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
https://i.imgur.com/pLoNzJC.png Looks pretty good, as far as tracking the target goes. There's about 200 ms delay on initial application. I don't have any data to benchmark against, but it seems good, if anyone else has thoughts please let me know. My only concern is the heat coming off the driver ...

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
Ok per Matt's suggestion on slack, I tried tuning the bias curve before trying PID auto tune. It appears to work once there is a reasonable bias curve in the calibration. I feel like the hysteresis is really high for opening vs closing the throttle, and wonder if it might be useful to have two separ...

GREAT SUCCESS! It works as expected. Still need to figure out the PID tuning, but so far, I'm quite happy!

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
We're making progress! I chose PD6(at locationP22) and PB1 (at location P13) and it's making a nice 1Khz hum. When I auto calibrate the TPS the thottle opens and closes, but PID auto-tune isn't really working. The throttle makes an attempt to open, but only opens a few percent, and doesn't do the os...

Re: ETB setup - startup pin state
Problem identified: image.png You've picked a pin that's hard wired to some other function on that board. You can't use PA9. Looks like I chose two bad pins. I was trying to use PA10 for the other one, which appears to also be on this USB circuit. Back to the diagrams to find a couple unused outputs.

Re: ETB setup
"startup pin state" "actual" "logic value" is about rusEFI firmware reading pins and validating pull-ups/pull-downs on start-up and validating against expectation. Please use DMM to read PA9 with ETB settings set to NONE, i.e. PA9 value while rusEFI is not aware of PA9...

ETB setup - startup pin state
I'm currently messing around with an ETB, trying to get it setup to work properly. My hardware is a Frankenso, with an add-on ETB board using a TLE7209 chip (this means I the use two-wire strategy). https://i.imgur.com/Bk0wgZT.jpg Currently the APP and TPS are functional, so if I move the blade or p...

I have one in a vehicle, and could easily connect the signal to RusEFI. Engine is destroyed, but I could still run fuel through the sensor and check it.

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
One day I'd like to get my hands on a Mercedes M120, maybe put it in an old F100 or something. I know ITBs seem like a neat idea, but if you are putting this engine in a sand rail, it's probably a bad idea. It's really hard to put good filters on ITBs and that is something you really need on a sand ...

Re: 1962 Ford Falcon - Grace
Something trivial is not right here. Well that could not have been more right... I somehow had my sensor ground going to the analog 12 pin on the ECU. The TPS and APS sensors are now sorted, and I'll get a decent power supply to the ECU and start testing the throttle body functionality. As is, the ...
