Thanks Abricos for the video.
I will be happy with such a starting.

Here are the waveforms for low and high speed :
Sensor gap 0,5mm.
If there are some data scientists in the community : attached the samplings corresponding.Sensor gap 0,5mm.

Re: Micro Rusefi for a Renault KM4 engine
I'm limited by motor power, and fear getting the flywheel flying... High rpm test will be done with function generator. I will capture the signal at 5000 and feed the wave form in the generator and then go up in revs. But I have to find an amplifier to get the right voltage level. I will post a 60 a...

I will try these bosch drivers from an old hall distributor I have in storage.
They have an internal 7,5 amps limiter implemented and have no dwell adjustment inside.- Sat Mar 21, 2020 7:08 am

Re: Ignition mods to adapt rusEFI
The coils are rated for 0,5 ohms. 15847739816285306862104880459686.jpg I don't have precise information about current rating but find some data saying 6 amps. It will be necessary to have a current limiting device in the driver because relying only on dwell time to limit the current will be to trick...

Re: Ignition mods to adapt rusEFI
First thing done : isolating the ignition wires from the loom. Two coils are connected in series, so then one fails you loose half of the engine!

Ignition mods to adapt rusEFI
My engine has coils on plugs in a waste spark configuration. The coil driver is in the oem ecu. So I need to add drivers to my MRE to fire the oem coils. I don't want to change the coils because they seal the plug pits which are exposed to rain in my car (funny not ?) . This topic will report what I...

Re: Fast start features
Thanks for that exemple.
On every rusefi start I have seen on videos, it seems allways to be some sort of a delay before something happens.
I hope I will soon have my engine starting to make measurements to compare between oem and rusefi.

Thanks for the tip.
But we have to wait for cam sync to begin fuel and spark or does it switch to crank sync?

Fast start features
I have read some lines about rusefi having fast start features, but didn't find were it is documented. So my question : If you run fully sequential your engine won't start until sync is achieved so 2 crank turns in worst case. Can we switch to wasted spark and batch fuel during cranking? Instant sta...

Re: Micro Rusefi for a Renault KM4 engine
Today construction of the flywheel drive. Why bother with hardware when we can simulate it? Because real world signals learn you more about functioning, gap limits, voltage increase with rpm, sync loss... I have all I need handy, so I jumped in. À VR simulator is also on the list, I don't want to sp...

Re: New entry in the board index?
Why not "Rusefi functionalities, existing and desirable"?. The difference with documentation is that documentation discribes what exists. Here the purpose is for newbies to read what has been discussed or ask if something exists, for members to make proposals and how to do it. If you mix i...

New entry in the board index?
For me something is missing in the board index. If I want to talk about some functionality of rusefi which is not only software or hardware (generally functions are performed by both), I have no entry in the forum. These topics may interest newcomers to know more about the product. It's also a proof...

Re: Micro Rusefi for a Renault KM4 engine
Next step : cut an OEM loom from a spare engine to make the mre one. Need it to calibrate the sensors and for the bench tests. With the mre connector it's easy to make.

Re: Micro Rusefi for a Renault K4M engine
First step : connect the MRE to tunerstudio.
Some problems with the drivers (see micro rusefi connection to tunerstudio https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1671).
Now everything is working and some hours will be necessary to use all the features.

Micro Rusefi for a Renault K4M engine #58
My project is to tune a MRE for a K4M engine. The idea is to have a stand alone ECU for trackdays with its own loom and easyly go back to OEM for street use. I will share the steps I follow so perhaps readers will not have to search on the forum, wiki, github, slack channels to find some informations.

Re: microRusEfi connection to Tuner Studio
My red/green indicator in the bottom right is not steady green. It blinks red/green. So I asked if it is normal. Since then I made some test changes with TS and it burns correctly in mre so I think it is normal.

Re: microRusEfi connection to Tuner Studio
The firmware update was successful.
Now the connection with TS is stable.
I just asked a question on SLACK about the blinking red/green Indicator in the Bottom right corner of the TS screen.
It seems that the problem is the automatic install of the STM32 bootloader does not work.

I found a way to install the missing driver. I installed it manually from the device manager.
You have to give the path : C:\Program Files (x86)\STMicroelectronics\Software\DfuSe v3.0.6\Bin\Driver\Win7

Back behind the pc.
With the new explanations I located a problem.
The "stm device in dfu mode" is faulty
Device manager says missing driver for stm32 bootloader. Automatic search does not work.
